La collaborazione tra la cantante Mateja Petelin Zobin e il chitarrista Pavel Cyargeenka nasce nel 2015 a Trieste, durante il corso di Musica da Camera del M.° Fedra Florit presso il Conservatorio Giuseppe Tartini. Dopo gli studi, il Duo prosegue la propria attività concertistica e la ricerca musicale, sviluppando una personale identità artistica. Nel 2019 si perfeziona presso la prestigiosa Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena, sotto la guida del M.° Oscar Ghiglia, distinguendosi tra i migliori allievi e ottenendo una borsa di studio. Il Duo Veles collabora regolarmente con importanti realtà musicali e culturali, tra cui ACM Chamber Music Trieste, Piccolo Opera Festival, KarsiArt, Fondazione Vignola, Musica e Arte Cento e Ikarus Festival.
